What Is the CMEF?

Dialogue Forum

The Council has 23 members, representing a wide variety of investment strategies and geographic locations. CMEF serves as a forum for discussion for these members – through both in-person meetings and ongoing working groups – in order to facilitate learning, sharing and exchange about the future path of the sector.

Industry Resource

The CMEF acts as an important resource on equity investing in microfinance, for both members and the industry. It collaborates with members and other microfinance participants on industry initiatives and on projects that further the development and dissemination of best practices.

Research Leader

The CMEF leads and participates in highly topical, forwarding-looking research initiatives, as well as special and ongoing projects. Past projects have addressed governance, industry risks and valuation, among other topics.
